Michelle Malkin

Michelle Malkin had a great response to the question posed on whether Bill really was the first “black president”:

He should have said, “that depends on what your definition of ‘black’ is.

Really, I thought Obama’s answer was great, although I’m always surprised when he uses the word “brother.” You’re in the senate, Barack. Have you really ever used that word?

Don’t get me wrong. I wish there were more brothers in the Senate. I just don’t feel like it’s a word that’s thrown around too much. But what do I know? We should ask the two black people in the audience during that question’s taping, as the cameras immediately zoomed to their faces after Obama deadpanned the joke.

Obama answered this one with poise, and brought it home with a joke in the end. Not an easy feat, especially when a question that is borderline insulting is thrown at you as the cameras are rolling. I wonder what went through his mind.
